138 Lake House Serving Tray

Project number: 138
Wood(s): Walnut and Maple
Size: 8” wide x 20” long

I found inspiration for my Lake House Serving Tray at a store in Florida. It immediately made me think of time spent with family and friends at a lake house back in Wisconsin. Knowing the popularity of summertime visits to a lake house, I got to work on making my own adaptation of a serving tray that will fit in at any home on the water.

The handles come in the form of 4-inch chrome boat cleats. The wood is a mix of contrasting walnut and hard maple. That contrast of dark and light wood may trigger emotions when seeing a classic wooden boat on the water.

Finished with a food-safe finish, my Lake House Serving Tray can be used to serve food like a charcuterie board or drinks on the patio on a warm summer day.
