When COVID-19 struck in March of 2020, my family was forced to stay locked down at home, like the rest of the country. It brought us closer together. It also meant that free time I would have otherwise spent away from the home, was instead spent in my workshop.
During that lockdown I wanted to make something meaningful for my daughters. Something they could cherish for the rest of their lives and remind them of the strange time we endured together. This jewelry box design was the answer. I love this jewelry box because it offers a lot of storage in a very small footprint. The interior boasts three removable trays that makes it extremely functional.
Overall, the best part of this project was the fact that I got to create something with sentimental value for my daughters while taking my mind off of the global pandemic. While others were consumed with the negative news all around them, I had my hobby to keep me occupied with something meaningful. I had never been so happy for the investment I’ve made in my hobby over the past couple decades.
